Reflection Blog For Web Agrument

I aimed my web argument towards anyone who is interested in putting their music online or anyone who is interested in music. Like to keep things pretty simple because at first i thought it was cool but then I seen all the trouble my fellow classmates with through to get pictures in the background and the trying to make the text readable. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid!!! One of my teachers in high school would always tells is that. I am proud that unlike last time I needed a lot of help putting pictures into my marcomedia stuff but i kind of got the hang of it now. If I had more time I would have worked more on the content. that can always use work. altough i am going to be a fashion designer i love music so every chance that i get to learn about it i take it.

Web Agrument

Claim: When musicians put themselves on the Web they can be seen by everyone and anyone at anytime, night or day. Evidence: Many musicians that want to be seen and heard post videos and songs on Web-Sites like YouTube and MySpace.

My Most Recent Agrument

I had to give a speech 2day and I wasn't sure to go first or not. While walking to class my friend Natalie and my Professor Mrs. Torres told me I should go first. 1. 2 get it over with and 2. my teacher most likely would let me slide on a few mistakes b-cuz I was first. I told them that I still was not too sure. When me and Natalie got to class she said that I should go just 2 get it over so I unsurely wrote my name on the first spot on the board, set up and gave my speech. I did alright.

project

I made my project for anyone who is interested in music. Whether you are interested in becoming a musician or just like to listen to music in general. The overall design was to help readers understand how the Internet plays a big role in music today. i'm proud of how the project came all together at the end. i think it came out better than i expected it to. when we did the hypertext i was a little on sure about dreamweaver but i found that i actually knew a little more about than i thought while doing this project. if i had more time i would have like to input video like on the sample. i did not add any slides i would have done that too. if i had greater techinal knowledge i would have put better backgrounds rather than just colors.

Project

i have decided to begin my project on music and technology. i have always had many questions about how artists use the Internet to their disposal. they use web pages instead of gigs. i have always wanted to know how much more they save or how much more they spend. i know that many people have become famous on the net but i do not know the many differences there are compared to the old fashion days of music careers. music is so far advanced now. the way we buy sell and listen to it. i wonder how it will be in the future. how much smaller will the devices. and how easier will it be foe artist to be heard since now a days all you need is a web page.

Reflection Blog

In doing this project I have realized that I can do much more than I actually thought I could do with a computer. I had always wondered how links worked and how people got them on their page. i think that my Hypertext Essay is well-suited for a Web reader because it contains information that is not frustrating to find or look at. I made it pretty simple because I really did do not know how to put graphics. But when I was done with it I realized that compared to others, you can see my information clearly. I added colors so it can be a bit more creative. It does not take away from my essay as a whole. Web readers that will read my essay can easily read it. I did not put things that were distracting. I am proud of how my essay came suddenly all together at the end. While I was working on it I was not too sure of it would work all together but it did. All the help I got was fantastic!!! If I did have more time and was better with working with technologies I might have added a picture or two. I learned a bit more about technology. First through reading Fred Gooltz article on Social Networking. Than actually working on putting together all my thoughts and information onto the computer.

Hypertext Essays

When we looked at these essays are eyes focused on the images, and not the text. We clicked on links to see where they lead to. Lack of wording encouraged you to read more. They all bored us because there was no signfincant information in the hyperlinks. Couldn't find out what the essays were about without clicking on the hyperlinks, so it didn't interest us.

Technologies I Use and How They Impact My Life

The technologies I use on a daily basis is the television, home phone, microwave, the radio and the Internet. TV has impacted by life by giving me everyday helpful informative information, so does the radio, but TV is more distracting. I guess because I have to look at it. When there is a "horrible" snow storm coming you are easily informed. Not that anyone could ACTUALLY predict the weather, but they do come pretty close. The radio helps me keep up with whats going on in everyday life and celebs lives too. Just the other day I heard on the air that MaryJ Blige is being alleged of using steroids! The radio also helps me practice my dancing skills in front of my mirror. So if I do go out I'll have a few new moves and I won't look like a fool. Well probably look like one sometimes anyways! I used to have a cell but a house phone works alright for me too. I can't carry my house phone with me but its a settle hi-tech device. I can talk for as long as I like and don't have to worry about minutes. If I want to be alone and secluded I won't be bothered because no one can get a hold of me. If I had a cell...well they'd ask, "why didn't you answer your cell?" Well cuz I didn't WANT to be bothered... Although in the reverse cells are pretty handy for emergencies. Oh, the microwave, I LOVE it! I'm not really a lazy person but its usually just me and my mom at home so if she cooks something VERY delicious before she goes to work, later I just pop it in the microwave and enjoy! It is convenient since were always on the go. I have always had this thing for baking, so you know I had that Easy Bake Oven....Little microwave baking stuff it was sweeeet! Most technologies make our life easier. But I think the the Net has impacted my life most. I could have never imagined keeping up with my old friends the way I do. I see recent pics everytime I go on my Myspace page. We can talk while were in school or at work. A few years ago seem so far away. You know those days when you mail a letter and some pics. Then you get some, then you mail back and forth. You lose track of things you say. I mean we still do mail just not so much to keep in touch with a loved one. Now just a click of a mouse and BAM!! you see your best friend, sister, or aunt.Talking to each other, gossiping, remembering. Its cool not having to worry about stamps and envelopes anymore.

Cyberculture

Throughout all my years in school I had always used computers. It was not until I moved that I began to enlist in this Cyberculture. The only Cybersociety I participate in is MySpace. When I moved it was kind of hard to keep in touch with my friends until someone introduced me to MySpace. I only use it to keep in touch. I still need some help to do certain things. After about a year of using it I still do not know how to change my backround, my best friend does that for me. She's so sweet. I just barely learned how to post my own pictures. I do post pictures that are embarrassing or any that I think my mother would not approve of!! MySpace has helped me tremendously in keeping up with people from high school and more! I met new people almost every time I go online. I think MySpace is a helpful tool if you utilize it in the right way. I have not tried any other type of cybersociety but I have been thinking about it. MySpace has met my expectations it has not disappointed me in any way so far.

How Pop Culture Has Shaped My Life

Pop culture is all around us. It is the way we dress, talk, play and even the way we eat. Our Pop Culture is thrown at us every time we turn on the television. It is on the net and on the radio. Now a days even on our phones.
I grew up in a totally different world it seems. I moved from Laredo, Texas to here, Hammond, Indiana and although they are both located in the United States, they are very different. Over there we dressed in short shorts and little tops on a daily basis, almost thewhole year around. We partied out side and listened mostly to spanish speaking music. Their Pop Culture is hot cars, driving on San Bern on Sunday nights. A street where we all drove up and down blasting our music and meeting new people. And FOOTBALL!!! This is what has shaped my life into what it is today. I hate going shopping because I constantly have to by long selved shirts and pants. It can be fashionable and cute but its not what I prefer. I'm into cars and loud music. Laredo is a growing city, so yeah people on that imfamous street had nice cars but the worked all week long just to show off what they had. But there were some of us that were on the poorer side so we'd borrow our mom's boyfriend's car to go 'crusin'. So I drive what ever gets be from A to B. Over there almost everyone enjoyed and appreciated a ride in a junked up car, mostly to be saved from the heat.

I listen to all kinds of music because in Laredo everyone listens to different types. Spanish is the most popular but hip-hop and rap is huge and so is country. Of course oldies too. My Pop Culture from there taught me that a song, in any kind of language, can still be a great song! I watch football every Sunday just as a chruch goer will go to chruch. I do not know any stats but I can give names of my favortite teams and players. In Laredo, everybody knew everybody and if you didn't know someone they sure knew you. So you know gossip was a big part of pop culture and it got around FAST!!!!Chosing my true friends took a long time. I surrounded myself with people I trusted my life with. If you can't trust your life with those people you can't tell them your secrets. I believe that is way I really haven't made a lot of friends here. Not that eveyone is the same.

I believe that "Pop Culture" may have ruined my generation. Young women who are easily influenced by others, see girls like Brintney Spears and Lindsay Lohan doing idoitic things and not to mention getting away with whatever they do with little or no punishment. They think its okay to do things like that. But when non-famous girls get caught they are punishmented fast and thrown back into reality. It's the same way with our young men. They think shooting each other solves problems but fail to realize how much impact they have on their families and communities once they are gone. Lets not get into the life sentences that the shooter gets. That is losing two young lives instead of one. There is a little light of good though. Look at people like Tom, from MySpace, a millionaries in their twenties for having great ideas for the internet. Or Ivanka Trump a 24-year-old vice president of her father's real-estate empire. I believe my generation has a lot to live up to. My mother's generation was about freedom and change. Sticking up for one another, being hand in hand. My generation on the other hand is about terrority and being competitive. I feel that it has to do with our Pop Culture. Turn on the television and there you will see. "Reality Shows" constantly kicking someone out. It is all or nothing for us.
